Sundays in Stonehell Report 21/03/21

We started out in the Rat-on-the-Stick, the finest bar in Korner, which says absolutely nothing about the ramshackle establishment.


At the table of heroes sit Grüngebeard the Tall, Clarence (or as I have styled him, Clarence the Green), Orthax Broadjaw, Winnie the cleric, Fryedah Wayelze and Skylos Dungstab.


The party was peacefully imbibing the tavern’s ale is as thick, black and bitter as liquified charcoal, they were interrupted by the kobold warden, who reminded our heroes that their mission was to clear out the hobgoblins from the level below.


Clarence had the bright idea of acquiring a cask of ale to win the favour of their enemy, and upon learning that free casks are awarded to those who can outdrink the landlord, he took up the challenge alongside some of his new allies while Minnie prepared a hangover cure. Clarence defeated Grogg in a decisive victory, winning his friendship and amulet of sobriety.



Our heroes set off down to level 3, where the hobgoblins lurk and found three of them encouraging a fourth in the aft of defiling a dwarven statue with his pungent dung. 


Skylos led the charge to disable the force before they could mobilise. Two were disarmed, one was brutally suffocated in his own filth by the ancestral fury of the dwarf. The fourth caught Skylos before he could act, puncturing his lung with a curved dagger.



He was eventually captured and brought in bonds to Korner. Minnie stayed Skylos’ bleeding with a healing spell, then used the threat of becoming soup to make the hobgoblin squeal. 


Skylos’ mind suffered greatly from his scrape with death, he will never be the same again, his mind blank and his speech stilted.

Cobwebs on the Borderlands, Session 2

The party wander through a heavily-wooded valley, with steep cliffs on either side. Among the foliage, they find a cave. As they get closer to it, a series of explosions occur from all around them, as a tornado of birds erupt in flight. Brindar, Ryka and Fineas take 4 damage as superheated crystal shards penetrate their skin. They have been shot by a gang of troglins hiding among the trees. The gang fail their initiative rolls, so the troglins act first. They fire another volley, no longer with the advantage of surprise and stealth, and the party are unscathed. Furthermore, the troglins' locations have been discovered. Brindar rushes a troglin and deals 3 damage, killing it outright. Ryka stabs with her spear, and kills another. Fineas takes a shot, at a -1 penalty due to cover, but hits anyway, killing another troglin. Nimbus shoots a beam with his staff, and injures a troglin.
